AlwaysOn Network Bangladesh Ltd. (AlwaysOn) is a joint venture between AON, an Oregon; USA based Wireless Internet Provider and a group of NRB (Non-Resident Bangladeshi) entrepreneurs and technologists. AlwaysOn was incorporated with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms, Bangladesh in June 2005. The Company received a nationwide Internet Service Provider license in March of 2006 from the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (“BTRC”). In July of 2006, the BTRC granted the Company a number of spectrum licenses for building a nationwide wireless transmission network and state-of-the-art last mile networks for wireless access by the end users.
In October 2006, AlwaysOn signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Science and ICT of Bangladesh. The MoU deals with areas of cooperation between the Ministry and AlwaysOn over the next ten years to build a network that will eventually connect all the schools of the country with high-speed Internet connections.
Our mission is to build a nationwide Internet access network in Bangladesh using wireless transmission equipment complemented by optical fiber sub-networks. AlwaysOn is committed to deliver world class Internet connectivity and quality post-sales support and build a lasting relationship with our service communities.Our joint mission is to provide world class Internet connectivity to the urban and rural markets in Bangladesh and contribute to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.
